How Do I Configure My SCXI Chassis for a Real-Time Target in MAX? Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmxPrimary Software Version: 8.3 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Real-Time Module Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Chassis
Problem: I have an SCXI chassis connected to a Real-Time target (for example, a PXI-1050 combo chassis with PXI-8186 RT controller). How do I configure the SCXI chassis and modules in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) for use on the Real-Time target? Solution: If you are using the NI-DAQmx driver, this procedure is described in the SCXI Quick Start Guide Steps 10-12. As described, the Real-Time target shows up under Remote Systems in MAX, and under that you will see a "Devices and Interfaces" category just as you would on your local system. Set up and configuration on this remote system will be mostly the same as it is on a local computer. If you are using Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy), a slightly different procedure is required.
