Troubleshooting Blown Fuses for Bus-Powered M Series Multifunction DAQ

Hardware: PXI/CompactPCI>>Controllers

Problem:
How do I replace the blown fuses on my Bus-Powered M Series Multifunction DAQ (USB-621x)?

Solution:
There are three types of USB-621x DAQ device:
  1. Screw Terminal devices: 6210, 6211,6212, 6215, 6216, 6218
  2. Mass Termination devices: 6212, 6216
  3. BNC devices: 6212, 6216, 6218
USB-621x Screw Terminal/BNC devices have a 350 mA self-resetting fuse that opens when the current exceeds this specification. Although the fuse is self-resetting, there is a finite number of self-resets that can occur before the fuse permanently fails. Therefore, a user can have an incorrect setup and constantly exceed the current limits. These fuses are not customer-replaceable and user should return the device to NI for repair.

USB-621x Mass Termination devices have a 750 mA self-replaceable socketed fuse (Littelfuse part number 0453.750). Steps to replace the fuse are outlined in the NI USB-621x User Manual.
