Why Does My GPIB-USB-HS Device Prompt the Add Hardware Wizard Each Time I Plug it in? Hardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-USB-HS
Problem: Every time I unplug my GPIB-USB-HS device and plug it back in, the Add Hardware Wizard pops up and re-installs the drivers. Each time this happens I lose all of the device configuration settings. How can I avoid this? Solution: This problem occurs when using the NI-488.2 driver version 2.46 or earlier. Installing NI-488.2 driver version 2.5 will allow you to use the GPIB-USB-HS device just like any other plug and play device and should eliminate the Add Hardware Wizard prompt from happening every time the device is plugged in.
