ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit 2.1.0 with LabVIEW 8.5

Problem:
How do I use the ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit with LabVIEW 8.5?

Solution:
The ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit 2.1.0 does not give the option to install to a LabVIEW 8.5 Directory. However, you can install the files to a LabVIEW 8.2 Directory (even if you do not have LabVIEW 8.2 installed) and then manually install the files for LabVIEW 8.5:

  1. Insert the ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit 2.1.0 CD-ROM.
  2. Run the Setup Wizard.
  3. Under the install options, select the option to install LabVIEW 8.2 support as shown in the image below.
  4. Proceed with the installation.
  5. Using Windows Explorer, copy the following directories:
    • LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\ECUMC
    • LabVIEW 8.2\vi.lib\addons\ECUMC
    • LabVIEW 8.2\examples\ECUMC
    If you do not have LabVIEW 8.2 installed, the directories will have been created during the ECU Measurement and Calibration Toolkit 2.1.0 installation.
  6. Paste these directories respectively into:
    • LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\ECUMC
    • LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\addons\ECUMC
    • LabVIEW 8.5\examples\ECUMC
  7. Copy the files niecumchelp.chm and niecumchelp.txt from the LabVIEW 8.2\help directory.
  8. Paste these files into the LabVIEW 8.5\help directory.
  9. Open LabVIEW 8.5 and create a new and blank VI.
  10. Select Tools»Advanced»Mass Compile.
  11. In the subsequent window, select the directory to compile as LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\ECUMC.
  12. Select Mass Compile.
  13. When finished, repeat steps 10, 11 and 12 for the two remaining directories:
    • LabVIEW 8.5\vi.lib\addons\ECUMC
    • LabVIEW 8.5\examples\ECUMC
