Adding an Extra FieldPoint Module Causes FailureHardware: FieldPoint
Problem: I have a FieldPoint system which works very well with an FP controller and two analog input (AI) modules on the terminal base. My controller is powered and I am able to acquire data from my modules successfully. I decided to add a 3rd module when I needed more channels and now that I have added it, I can not acquire any data. My power and Status lights are flashing. I tried using a different module but with the same results. I have also tried swapping out terminal bases and inspecting for bent pins. What could the problem be? Solution: If everything is connected properly and there are no problems with the module or the terminal base, chances are that the power supply to the controller is failing. Even though most analog input modules don't require their own power supplies, they still do draw power from the controller. Try using another power supply and this should allow for proper functionality of all the AI modules. Related Links: Attachments:
