Issue Details

I have a real-time PXI/PXIe controller with several PXI/PXIe modules. When I try to discover the PXI/PXIe System in NI MAX I see that:
  • the PXI/PXIe modules have a different order from the real system
  • the items are listed oddly by NI MAX (e.g.: presence of the PXI backplane resource)

  • the chassis shows up as unidentified in NI MAX

Solution

  • Using a PXI Platform Services unsupported by your controller/chassis may generate this problem. Verify that the PXI Platform Services version you are using is supported by both your OS and LabVIEW Real-Time module  and your PXI/PXIe chassis and controller.
  • Verify that PXI Platform Services and the necessary driver (Eg. NI-DAQmx) are installed in both the host PC and the controller, and make sure the version installed in PC and the controller are matching.
  • Launch Services on your PC and verify that NI PXI Chassis Management and NI PXI Resource Manager services Startup Type is Automatic and they have started.
  • Update the NI Package Manager to make sure you have the newest services and software installed.
