Can I Use RealSim with MATRIXx 6.3?

Primary Software: MATRIXx
Primary Software Version: 6.3
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: Can I use RealSim with MATRIXx 6.3?

Solution: RealSim is not supported by National Instruments and MATRIXx 6.3 does not ship with RealSim. However:
  • RealSim was a separate product with its own installer with in the MATRIXx suite.
  • RealSim uses the code that is generated by AutoCode along with information that is stored in the RTF file.
  • MATRIXx 6.3 generates AutoCode and RTF files that are compatible with 6.2.

This means that, if you already own RealSim for MATRIXx 6.2.2 then you can install MATRIXx 6.3 with out loosing compatibility with RealSim. The files created from MATRIXx 6.3 can be used with RealSim 6.2.2. To have RealSIM use MATRIXx 6.3.2 instead of MATRIXx 6.2.2 you need to edit some of the bat files:
  1. Install MatrixX 6.32 in the ISI folder structure in a similar way as version 6.22, i.e. into folder c:\isi\mx_63.2
  2. In the file realsimsetup.bat in folder c:\isi\bin, change the line "set RSMTXVER = 62.2" to "set RSMTXVER = 63.2"
  3. In the file rsetupenv.bat in the folder c:\isi\bin\rs_62.2\bin, change the line "set MATRIXX = c:\isi\mx_62.2" to "set MATRIXX = c:\isi\mx_63.2"
