How to Install CVI 6.0 with NI-DMM 2.4.5 which Requires NI-DAQmx 7.4Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>Base PackagePrimary Software Version: 6.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: 7.1 Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-DAQmx
Problem: I have CVI 6.0 with an old version of NI-DMM and Traditional DAQ. Now, I would like to upgrade my NI-DMM to the latest version. In the process, it asks me to install NI-DAQmx 7.4 or later. But when I do that, CVI gives me an error, since NI-DAQmx 7.x is not compatible with CVI 6.0. Is there a workaround? Solution: Yes. What you will need to do is to first install the NI-DAQ Drivers without the DAQmx component. Make sure that the Traditional Driver includes CVI support. Then, modify the install of the NI-DAQ drivers by installing DAQmx, WITHOUT support for CVI. You can now install NI-Switch like normal if needed. Finally, you can now install the latest version of NI-DMM. This should allow you to have the latest functionality and upgrades with NI-DMM, without the need to upgrade CVI to 7.1.
