Configuring the NI 9401 Module for Output Hardware: CompactRIO>>Digital Input Modules>>NI 9401
Problem: I have compiled an example digital output VI to run with the NI 9401 module in my cRIO chassis. The VI seems to run without any errors, but I am not measuring any output on the DIO channels. How do I configure the 9401 for digital output? Solution: The NI 9401 is a bidirectional digital module, which is configurable by nibble (4 bits). The configuration for this module defaults to input and can be changed in the Project Explorer. After a project has been created, add a cRIO target, chassis, and C-series modules. Once the 9401 has been selected as a module, right click and go to Properties. In the Module Configuration window that pops up, the two ports (DIO0:3 and DIO4:7) have drop-down menus to configure them for input or output.
