NI Update Service Does Not Update Software

Problem:
Whenever I use NI Update Service to view available updates and I select those available, why does the service appear to be working but the same update always shows as available and never applies to my software?

Solution:
The NI Update Service requires local administrator account access to successfully install the available updates. If you are logged in as a limited user in Windows then the NI Update Service software cannot make the needed file and directory changes. The local administrator account gives you the priviledges to make these changes and allows the update to fully install.
