How Do I Create a DataSet Using DSC 8.x?

Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>DSC Module
Primary Software Version: 8.6
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I would like to organize the data logged in my application more effectively.  I noticed that there are VIs for viewing DataSets in DSC.  How do I create a DataSet in my database?

Solution:
You can create DataSets in DSC by using the DataSet Marking I/O Server.  To add a DataSet Marking I/O Server to your project, right-click My Computer or your variable library and select New>>I/O Server. This will open up a window in which you can select the DataSet Marking I/O Server.

The DataSet Marking I/O Server can be configured to log selected variables together in a group as a run. It is also possible to configure what event starts and stops the DataSet logging. A great example of how to do this can be found in the example finder and is called 'DataSet Marking Demo.lvproj'.
