Why Does Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) Freeze When I Try to Auto-Detect My SCXI Modules Using Traditional DAQ? Primary Software: Utility Software>>Measurement & Automation ExplorerPrimary Software Version: 3.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: 3.1 Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: SCXI>>Chassis>>SCXI-1000
Problem: I go under Devices and Interfaces and right-click on Traditional DAQ Devices and Add an SCXI Chassis. I then follow the prompts selecting the Chassis Type, Chassis ID, and Chassis Address, but when I select Yes to Auto-Detect Modules Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) freezes. Solution: The device you are using has its drivers set for DAQmx. In order to change this right-click on Traditional DAQ Devices and click Reset Device for Traditional DAQ. Once the device has been successfully reset, the SCXI Chassis can be configured just as was attempted before. MAX will no longer freeze and the SCXI modules will then be detected.
