Determining the Channel Number of a 5B Module Hardware: Signal Conditioning Other>>5B Series
Problem: How do I determine the data acquisition (DAQ) channel number for each slot on my 5B backplane? Solution: Each slot's corresponding DAQ channel number depends on which 5B backplane you have. If you have the 16 channel backplane, the DAQ channel number corresponds directly to the slot number. For example, if you have a module in slot 6, then the DAQ channel number will be 6. With the 8 channel backplane, determining the DAQ channel number is a bit different. Each slot is jumper selectable, and can be routed to either the lower (0-7) or upper (8-15) channels of the DAQ board. Therefore, if you have a module in slot 6, the DAQ channel number will be either 6 (if the jumper is set to the lower channels) or 13 (if the jumper is set to the upper channels).
