Viewing Images From LabVIEW in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI)

Primary Software: Vision Builder for Automated Inspection
Primary Software Version: N/A
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I am using the Run LabVIEW VI step in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) but my image is not updating in VBAI.  When I run the LabVIEW step alone it seems to work fine.  How can I see the correct image in VBAI?

Solution:
VBAI updates with the image that is in the location of the original image after running the LabVIEW step.  If the VI being used changes the destination image, then VBAI will not update according to the new image, but will pass back the unchanged original image source. For most functions, this can be solved by wiring the image source to the image destination.  This becomes more complicated when using functions that require different image types for the source and the destination (e.g. Bayer Decoding).  The attached image shows an example of how to set up your image destination so that it still points to your source and therefore updates correctly in VBAI.
