How to Reset Text History of the I/O Assistant

Primary Software: Utility Software>>Instrument I/O Assistant
Primary Software Version: 1.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: Utility Software>>Instrument I/O Assistant

Problem:
I've typed in my own alias in the instrument list of the I/O assistant, and how can I delete that alias?

Solution:
The instrument list contains the history of the text that has been inputted, and also a list of the aliases that it retrieves from Measurement and Automation Explorer(MAX).

To delete the aliases that are assigned by MAX, you must go into MAX and choose Tools»NI-VISA»Visa Options...Choose Alias and there should be a list of VISA aliases that are shown in the I/O Assistant. From here, you can add and delete aliases that will then be represented in the instrument list of the I/O Assistant

To delete words that were typed into the instrument list, and not assigned by MAX, you can delete the history of the I/O assistant that is stored in the registry file. To access the registry files, click on Start»Run... and type regedit to bring up the registry editor. The binary file that stores the instrument list is located at My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments\Assistants\{C7CFF98C-CEEB-4BAB-A8B2-8C110FE7986A} and just right click on History and click Delete.

Close and open the I/O Assistant, and the text history of manual typed entries will be reset.
