Lookout ActiveX ComponentWorks Controls - Fieldpoint ConnectionsPrimary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 5.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software:
Problem: 1. Are the ActiveX ComponentWorks controls, installed by Lookout, part of an evaluation package or can I use them in a permanent process? 2. I want to make a remote connection between a ComponentWorks control and a Fieldpoint analog input channel. However, when I try to browse while trying to "Edit Connections," why don't I see any of the analog input modules? Solution: 1. All of the Lookout packages install nine ComponentWorks controls that can be used in regular processes. These are NOT for evaluation versions only. 2. ComponentWorks will allow any local connections. It will also allow remote connections to any writable objects. For example, you can set up a remote connection to a Fieldpoint analog output channel, but it is best not to make a remote connection to an analog input channel. The reason is that if you browse in Lookout (while editing a connection), none of the analog input modules appear as a possible connection for a remote connection (at least in Fieldpoint). You can work around this situation by typing in the remote input source manually to the green URL field and it will allow the remote connection. However, you won't be able to actually write to the analog input channel. Related Links: Attachments:
