Problem: I have a ValueMotion board and I am not sure which driver to install so that I can configure my board properly. Which versions of the ValueMotion driver will allow my device to show up in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) and which ones use pcRunner? Solution: ValueMotion used to install (version 2.0 and earlier) a program called pcRunner that was used to configure the motion control board. In ValueMotion version 4.3 and later, that functionality was brought into MAX. If you are using a board such as a PCI-Step, PCI-7314, or PCI-7324, then you should be using the latest version of the ValueMotion driver, which is version 5.0.2. This driver will fully integrate all of the features of these boards into MAX. Prior to installing the new version of ValueMotion, you should uninstall the previous version from Windows Add/Remove Programs. Additionally, the newest boards, the FlexMotion series, integrate many new features and are fully configurable throug MAX.
