Can I Use the SCXI-1180 Feedthrough Panel with an SCXI-1520 Module to Access My Unused DAQ Device Channels?Hardware: SCXI>>Custom Modules and Terminal Blocks>>SCXI-1180, SCXI>>Modules>>SCXI-1520
Problem: I want to access the unused channels from my DAQ device by using the SCXI-1180 feedthrough panel with the SCXI-1349 cable adapter, but see an offset and/or interference when measuring AC signals. What am I doing wrong? Solution: You cannot use the SCXI-1180 with the SCXI-1520 if you are using the SCXI-1349. The SCXI-1520 is an 8-channel simultaneous sampling module. When connected to the DAQ device via the SCXI-1349 all 8 output channels from the SCXI-1520 are routed to the 8 input channels on the DAQ device. This leaves no unused channels for the SCXI-1180 to access. Use the SCXI-1346 multi-chassis cable adapter instead of the SCXI-1349 to access the unused channels. This adapter is used to daisy chain multiple chassis together by internally disconnecting all the other channels (1-7) from the DAQ device and only connecting channel 0 to it. Channels 1-7 are passed to the 50 pin connector on the side and back. Use this connector to access the unused signals with the SCXI-1180. If the data aquisition card has more than eight AI channels, then these channels can also be accessed with the SCXI-1180. For example, AI channels 9-15 on the PCI-6251 can also be used using the SCXI-1180 and SCXI-1346.Related Links: KnowledgeBase 2AE7GIQO : Which SCXI Modules are Capable of Running in Parallel Mode?
