Windows is Unable to Find the Driver for GPIB-USB Devices Hardware: GPIB>>External Controllers/Convertors>>GPIB-USB-A
Problem: When I plug in my GPIB-USB device, Windows comes up with a "New Hardware Found" window, but is not able to find a suitable driver. Why is this happening? Solution: It is likely that you need a version of NI-488.2 which supports your GPIB-USB device. For a list of current NI-488.2 drivers that support the GPIB-USB-A, GPIB-USB-B and GPIB-USB-HS devices, refer to the GPIB Installation/Configuration Troubleshooter page. A link for this page has also been provided below. To help determine which one you are using, the GPIB-USB-B and GPIB-USB-HS devices have a blue head and the GPIB-USB-A device has a black head. To install your GPIB-USB-A/B/HS device, follow these steps:
Note: GPIB-USB-A/B/HS devices are not supported in Windows 95 and NT. Note: GPIB-USB-A is now obsolete and can no longer be purchased through National Instruments. For more information about this product, please refer to the data sheet for the GPIB-USB-B, the product page for the GPIB-USB-HS (linked below), or to the manual that shipped with your GPIB-USB-A device.
