Problem: I am trying to test and configure my NI-CAN (NI-DNET) hardware installed on my RT target. However each time I try to do so, I get the following message:

Why is this happening? How can I resolve this error and configure my NI-CAN (NI-DNET) hardware installed on my RT target?
Solution: This error is a result of failed communication with your RT target. To resolve this error:
- Ensure your RT target is powered on and configured successfully. For more information on troubleshooting PXI RT systems, see the tutorial located in the related links section below.
- Ensure you are using the correct IP address or Name when opening the NI-CAN (NI-DNET) RT Hardware Configuration utility.
- Correct IP Address

If your RT target is at IP address 1.1.1.1 (as shown above), and the address 1.1.1.2 is typed in, the above error will occur, assuming there are no other RT targets on your network with the address 1.1.1.2.
- Correct Machine Name

If your RT target has been named "MyTestSystem" (without spaces) in MAX (as shown above), and "My Test System" (with spaces) is typed in the RT Hardware Configuration utility opening dialog, the above error will occur, assuming there are no other RT targets on your network with the name "My Test System".
