What is a Hardware Key for Lookout?Primary Software: LookoutPrimary Software Version: 5.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software:
Problem: What is a hardware key and why do I need it? How do I get one? Solution: A hardware key, or dongle (as it is also called), is a type of software security. In certain countries outside of the United States and Canada, anyone using Lookout software needs a hardware key. A hardware key is a small adapter that plugs into an external port (usually the printer port on your computer). This hardware key contains circuitry that enables you to run the software. The adapter is transparent so that you can still use the port for other purposes (ie. a printer). When international versions of Lookout are being installed, they will automatically check for the presence of a hardware key (to eliminate possible software copyright infringements). If there is no hardware key, the software will not run. You can obtain a hardware key upon purchasing the software. The part number is 777338-01. Related Links: Attachments:
