Why do I get Error 7 when trying to save to a network directory from my LabVIEW Real-Time controller.Primary Software: LabVIEW Modules>>Real-Time ModulePrimary Software Version: 8.2.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Controllers>>cFP-2120
Problem: I am running an LabVIEW application on a Real-Time target (Fieldpoint controller, Real-Time PXI, cRIO, Compact Vision System) and I want to save a file directly to my Windows PC. I have tried using the Open/Create/Replace function with the path set to \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\test\rttest.txt where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of my computer, but it always returns Error 7: File not found. Solution: The Real Time Operating System does not support writing to network shares. You have to write the file locally then transfer it to the Windows PC via FTP.
