Signal Coming From Strain Gauge Module Cuts Off At 100 mVHardware: SCC>>Carriers>>SC-2345
Problem: I have a SC-2345 with the SG-04 strain gauge module. I am acquiring data correctly, but my signal cuts off at 100 mV. I have increased the limits on my graph, but my data will not go higher than 100 mV and will not go lower than -100 mV. Why is this happening? Solution: National Instruments data acquisition boards have an input voltage limit of plus or minus 10 Volts. Our SG-04 modules apply a gain of 100 to the input signal. Because of this gain, you can not read a signal that is above 0.1 Volts (100 mV) because the gain applied will cause the signal to increase beyond the 10 Volt limit. This is usually not a problem because most strain gauges will not produce a signal greater than 100 mV.
