Where can I find out what products need calibrating?

Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules, CompactRIO>>Analog Input Modules, Counter/Timers (TIO), Digital I/O (DIO)>>High-Speed, Compact FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules, Legacy DAQ Devices, Legacy DAQ Devices>>Multifunction DAQ, Modular Instruments

Problem:
I have a National Instruments device and need to know whether I need to calibrate it or not. Where can I find this information?

Solution:
As with traditional instrumentation, National Instruments products may also require routine calibration to ensure measurements are taken with accuracy and precision. Furthermore, customers who are ISO compliant will require traceability (see comparison of basic/detailed calibration in calibration FAQ) to meet quality mandates.

There are two main sources of information to determine whether your card requires calibration:

1.       Specifications Sheet
In the specifications sheet it will often give a calibration interval if required.
2.       NI Website
The resources regarding calibration are available at ni.com/calibration. From here you can download the list of supported products, prices and part numbers. If your card features on here then it does require calibration.
This site also gives a comparison of the difference between basic and detailed calibration.
Typically any device with analog inputs or outputs or any device using precision clocks (e.g. counter/timer cards) will require calibration once per year to remain within their specification.
