How Can I Create a " T " Junction Connection in a Bus?

Primary Software: Electronics Workbench>>Multisim
Primary Software Version: 10.0.1
Primary Software Fixed Version:
Secondary Software:

Problem:

I have been trying to create a "T" connection in one of the buses but I can't seem to wire another bus to it or branch-out the bus. It seems that I can only make the bus longer or smaller by dragging the endpoints of the bus.

How can I create a "T" connection?

Solution:

In Multisim, buses behave a little different than wires. In the case of wires when you want to create a branch you just either place a Junction and wire out of it, or you bring another wire and touch the first wire to create a branch and junction.

In the case of buses, you can also create a branch or "T" connection, however the process is different. The following steps show you how to accomplish this.

  1. Zoom close to the original bus where you want to place a branch or "T" connection.

  2. Place another bus as a mid-air bus. Then select it with the mouse pointer (the blue endpoints will indicate that is selected).

  3. Move the cursor to the endpoint facing the original bus and observe how the pointer changes its shape to . Click to drag the endpoint.

  4. Drag the endpoint and position it on top of the original bus. Then let go the endpoint.

  5. The two buses are now merged in a "T" junction connection.

NOTE: If the buses you are trying to interconnect have different buslines configured, at the time of connection the Bus Merge dialog pops-up and you will be able to either merge the buses or cancel the action.
