Edits of MathScripts with Some Editors Can Not Be Saved

Primary Software: MATRIXx
Primary Software Version: 7.1
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem: Sometimes after running a MathScript I try to edit it in a text editor but I get an error " Access to .... ms was denied". Why am I not able to save changes to my .ms file with some editors?

Solution: The reason why you get this error is because the script can still be used by Xmath.
  • Make sure that the script is done and not in use. For example a MathScript Command (msc) or Function (msf) will remain loaded until Xmath is closed or the command is undefined. Try using the undefine command to undefine the function or command.
  • The script may call some commands in a way that they reserve the resources for the file. That is the case for the sim commands. In this case you can undefine simexe to release the file.
  • If the resource can not be idenfitied then close Xmath and then edit the script.
You can also try another editor to see if it behaves differently.
