Why Does My NI-Serial Troubleshooting Wizard Fail When Called From the System Exec Command? Primary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>Full Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 2.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-VISA
Problem: I am using the System Exec Command to call on the NI-Serial Troubleshooting Wizard (or possibly another application), and it fails the first test. If I run the Wizard any other way, it passes all tests. Solution: There is an issue with Windows that forces the NI-Serial Troubleshooting Wizard to fail its first test if not called on in a specific way. This can be the case for other applications as well. The key to using the System Exec command is to give the entire path as the working directory, and just the filename as the command line. There are times when Windows cannot differentiate the command line's file from the root path. The following is a correct method of calling on the VISA Driver Wizard. Related Links: Attachments:
