What Versions of VBAI and LabVIEW RT Can I Have on a CVS at the Same Time?

Problem:
I have Vision Builder for Automated Inspection 2.6.1 and LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1 on my Compact Vision System (CVS). I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW Real-Time 8.0 and get the error "Cannot process install because other dependencies are required: LabVIEW Real-Time 7.1.1.

I have also tried Vision Builder AI 3.0 with LabVIEW RT 8.2. I get a similar error but this time it tells me I need LabVIEW Real-Time 8.0.1. Why am I getting this error? What versions of Vision Builder for Automated Inspection and LabVIEW Real-Time will work together on the CVS?

Solution:

There are specific versions of the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection software that will work only with specific versions of the LabVIEW Real-Time software on the CVS. The reason for this is that the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection standalone software was created using the LabVIEW environment. When it was built into an executable, it required a specific version of the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine. Therefore, when you try to install the Vision Builder for AI software and the LabVIEW Real-Time software onto the CVS at the same time, it requires the version of the LabVIEW Run-Time that your specific Vision Builder AI software was built on. Below is a table that describes the versions of Vision Builder AI and LabVIEW Real-Time that will work concurrently on the CVS.
