Why does SignalExpress create backup files of my data? Primary Software: LabVIEW Signal Express>>Development SystemPrimary Software Version: 1.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: When I use a Save to ASCII/LVM step in SignalExpress, I find numerous backup files in the directory to which I originally saved my file. Why does SignalExpress create these backup files, and is there a way to prevent these files from being created? Solution: Creating backup files is the default behavior of the Save to ASCII/LVM step. This default setting backs up the exisiting file (if it exists), and then overwrites the file with new data. When you select run continuously, the Save to ASCII/LVM step will create a backup file for each iteration of the step. To change this default setting, first select the Save to ASCII/LVM step in the project view on the left. In the Step Setup view select the File Setup tab, from the pull-down menu labeled If the file already exists select a new setting. The option Append to File will add the data to the existing file, avoiding the creation of backup files. Additionally, context help, located in the lower right hand corner of the SignalExpress window, contains detailed descriptions of each option's behavior. Related Links: Attachments:
