Question Marks on the VBAI Calculator Inspection Step

Problem:
I am attempting to use the Calculator inspection step in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI) 3.0, and the Calculator Functions palette appears with question marks where there should be subpalettes. How can I restore VBAI to show the Boolean, Comparison, Numeric, and String subpalettes?

Solution:

This is a known issue that sometimes appears when VBAI 3.0 and LabVIEW 8.0.1 are both installed.  To fix this problem, complete the following steps:

  1. Open LabVIEW 8.0.1.  Make sure that VBAI is closed prior to this step.
  2. Select Tools >> Advanced >> Edit Palette Set.
  3. Click the Restore To Default button.  Click OK when prompted.
  4. Close LabVIEW and reopen VBAI.  The Calculator inspection step should now display a Functions palette with the Boolean, Comparison, Numeric, and String subpalettes.
