Dalsa Spyder GigE Cameras & GigE Vision Compliance Primary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQdxPrimary Software Version: N/A Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: N/A
Problem: My Dalsa GigE Camera says it is GigE Vision Compliant but I don't see it in MAX, even though I have the latest IMAQdx driver installed. Solution: It has come to light that some Dalsa cameras that are advertised (on the packaging) as being GigE Vision Compliant actually aren't. Certain versions of the Spyder3 camera contain firmware that doesn't enable the camera to be GigE Vision Compliant. When the firmware is updated it will become compliant and thus compatible with National Instuments' IMAQdx driver. Version 12E of the Dalsa Spyder3 (and later revisions) due to hardware differences are able to become compliant by contacting Dalsa and asking for a firmware upgrade. The compliance is minimal meaning that only the 7 mandatory features are included (image width, image height, colour format, image buffer size, grab/snap, start of capture, end of capture). Everything else has to be controlled via Pleora/QuickCam. Related Links: External Link: Dalsa KnowledgeBase 461BPOS4: GigE Vision Compliancy Attachments:
