TestStand UI Controls do not work when Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 is Installed

Primary Software: TestStand
Primary Software Version: 4.0
Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A
Secondary Software: N/A

Problem:
I have a User Interface that contains the Variables View or the Insertion Palette. When I try to use either of these user interface components, they stop working or throw unhandled .NET exceptions. How can I fix this?

Solution:
This problem occurs because of a change that Microsoft introduced in .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 and later. It was distributed to all Windows users as a critical update for the Microsoft .NET Framework.

National Instruments is aware of the issue and has created a patch for TestStand 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 which you may download from the link below.  This patch will update the necessary components of your TestStand software to version 4.0.1f1 to fix this problem.  Any deployments built from patched machines will include the fixed components.

The evaluation of TestStand 4.0.1f1 linked below is a complete install which includes the fix. You may install this evaluation over exisiting copies of 4.0.1.

If you require a patch that will not upgrade your system to TestStand 4.0.1, please contact National Instruments Support to request it.
