Welcome to Lookout 5.0. This edition of the Lookout HMI/SCADA
package introduces the new Historical Data Viewer along with new
Lookout objects, the ability to run Lookout as an NT service, and
easy-to-configure serial communications debugging.
The Historical Data Viewer is a new feature of National Instruments
Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX).With this new tool you can
view your Lookout data or alarms and events, creating custom views that
you can then save for easy reference. You can archive data, combine
data from different databases, and export your data using default or
custom-made export templates (including an HTML template that exports
your data into an easy-to-browse Web page). Consult the Historical Data
Viewer Online Help for more information on using this powerful new
addition to Lookout.
The following new Lookout objects are included in this version:
• ActiveX Combobox: an option selection tool
• ActiveX Listbox: both an option selection tool and an advanced way
to implement stacks or queues
• ActiveX Webbrowser: an easy-to-use Web browsing tool
• GE Fanuc Versamax driver: a protocol driver for GE Versamax PLCs
• Thermocouple: an object for converting thermocouple measurements
into temperatures
