The NI Instrument Simulator is a new way to learn GPIB
communication protocol. Because the simulator can function as both a
digitizing oscilloscope and a digital multimeter, it is flexible enough to
be used in a classroom or industry setting. The Simulator is fully
compatible with 488.2SRQ protocol and also supports a subset of SCPI-like
commands. You can also use VISA to communicate with the
Instrument Simulator through LabWindows/CVI or LabVIEW.
