Note: Discontinuation of Revision C of the AT-MIO-16E-10

Note: This document is not the most recent edition.  Search to find out if a more recent edition is available.

Edition Date:   October 1997
Part Number:   321791A-01

Note: Read this document if you are using NI-DAQ 5.0.3 or earlier or if you are a register-level programmer. You may have revision C of the AT-MIO-16E-10; this revision will be discontinued after November 1, 1998 and will be replaced by revision P boards. Because National Instruments will accept orders only until November 1, 1998, you must place your order prior to this date if your application requires revision C boards. The two most important differences between revision C and later revisions are the board dimensions and the register map controlling calibration. The length of the board has been reduced from 13.3 in. to 6.8 in., and the RTSI connector has been moved forward, closer to the I/O connector. If you are using the RTSI bus to synchronize multiple long boards, you will need to use the Extended RTSI cable (part number 777562-05) to reach between the long and short boards. AT-MIO-16E-10 revision P boards require NI-DAQ version 5.1 or greater for Windows 95/NT, or version 5.0.4 or 5.0.5 for Windows 3.1x. If you have an earlier version of NI-DAQ, you must upgrade your software. Board revisions A, B, and C can use any version of NI-DAQ. If you cannot upgrade your driver software, you should order revision C AT-MIO-16E-10 kit number 776909 or 182640. To determine whether you have revision C, refer to the front side of the circuit board near the white National Instruments logo and copyright symbol. An assembly number, such as ASSY182640C-01, is printed nearby. The revision letter, which is C in this example, is the letter before the hyphen. If you are doing register-level programming, use the AT-MIO-E Series Register-Level Programmer Manual, part number 340747C-01 or later (kit number 777189-01) for detailed register information. To determine which revision of the manual you have, refer to the part number on the cover or title page of the manual. The letter before the -01 is the revision letter.
